Believe in yourself

Happy Saturday!

I am going to be honest with you, this week has defiantly not been one of my best. It has actually been pretty crappy at times. After a major breakdown I found myself in the school guidance counselor's office on Thursday. I never thought it would help but talking to somebody I barely knew about everything going on helped, big time. I have learned a lot about myself this week. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy and I totally believe that. I thought it would get easier once school started. I wouldn't be obsessed with how my Memphis friends were spending their Friday nights, I would be interacting with people, and I would be hopefully moving forward. Well, this week I felt like I took 20 steps back. Starting school has actually made it harder. It is really hard to love my new city, town, and school when you never wanted to start over. This third move has taught me a lot! One of those things is, life doesn't put on its blinker for you when it is about to take an unexpected turn. it isn't going to give you a head ups, your just expected to go with it and have faith that it is leading you to an amazing place with new memories and adventures. I know God lead me here for a reason, I am just still wondering WHY???? I wish I could sit down down with him face to face and ask :)

The two pictures aren't anything special but they mean something big to me. The first is of inspirational quotes and bible verses on post it notes. My goal is to start each day with a positive view and attitude. The second is a Dove wrapper. I opened it up at lunch one day this week and thought that saying was a total sign from God. It is probably his way of smacking me in the forehead. :) I looked at that wrapper all day and it is on my desk so I can see it everyday. It is really scary and stressful getting out there in a new school with all new people but I am going to believe in myself.

I am sure I will have more bad days but I figured I might as well embrace that it is a bad day then, on the days that are great I will enjoy them even more. I feel so blessed to have an amazing Memphis family who loves me no matter where I live. That is true southern hospitality.

Miss every single one of ya'll!!

Fresh Paint 2

Good Evening!

Like I said in the last post, we (or really dad) have been painting more! Laura's room and the bathroom got painted this weekend! They both look a lot better and  Laura and I can finally feel like that is OUR room and OUR bathroom.

                                                     Laura being Laura!
                                                     Old paint and new paint!
                                                    Doesn't it look a lot better? :)

The bathroom was a blah tan color and now it is a nice cool blue!
                                                     New Faucets too!

Progress is being made! Laura wants me to warn you...her room is not done yet. She is asking for some cute wall decorations for Christmas and she is on the look out for curtains!

BIG thanks to my dad for taking the time to paint! I can not believe in 3 days I will be in school. It has arrived really fast and I am super nervous.

1 week

Good morning Memphis!

1 week until the routine starts, 1 week until early morning wake up calls, 1 week until the homework begins, 1 week until I get lost in my new school, 1 week until I have to say, "Hi, I am Maggie. I just moved." WOOO HOOO!!! ;) I have 1 more week of summer and there is a part of me that is ready for school there is also another part of me that is not ready. I pray that it will be a smooth transition and that Laura and I will meet tons of great friends!

What has been going on?? New paint for the first floor and new lights for the kitchen. All the boxes are out of the garage and we are Kentucky official with our licenses and plates! More changes to come and pictures!

                                                                   Riding in Kentucky!

Look, we have a clear spot!

The dogs really miss their doggie door!

Back to Kentucky

Good morning all!

This past weekend we had a wonderful and much needed visit with our favorite Memphis friends. It is amazing how much you can smile when you haven't seen somebody for a month. :) I am still smiling, thinking about it. Today is August 1st, and it just blows my mind how fast summer has gone! It seemed like it was just ending and I had the whole summer to soak up the sun, have cookouts with friends, relax on family vacations, and enjoy not waking up at 5:15 to my school alarm. Now, our summer days are numbered! As the new school year approaches, it gets me thinking about what this year will hold. A new school, new town, new house, new church, new everything. Is change really all that good??

I know that first day of school will be hard. I am prepared for the worst but am hoping for the best. If only Memphis could have moved with me to Kentucky! Wouldn't that be great?? :)

Enjoy your last full week of summer! Don't melt away in the heat and hopefully more pictures will be coming!

Happy Monday!
